@sidereal some folks i know set up an experimental network during helene using meshtastic with freetak to create a logistics map of things like aid drop-off points, obstacles in the road, etc. Said it seemed promising but they ran into a lot of limitations due to meshtastic technical issues, and also it wasn't really feasible to train people to use it *during* a disaster relief situation. My partner and I are working with them to switch to using Reticulum + FreeTak since it seems to be significantly more versitile and fleshed-out than Meshtastic or MeshCore. Additionally we're trying to build a network in Atlanta, distributing client devices, and getting people trained on it *before* a disaster hits. So not exaxtly successful yet lol but seems promising
