@JulianOliver It's very disappointing that none of the federated alternatives to #Signal have anywhere close to the level of privacy and security that Signal does. There are a few things I dont like about Signal especially when using it in an organizational capacity (for the love of god please we need group channels!!), and it really is a single point of failure for the entirety of comms infrastructure for vast networks of activists and mutual aid groups out there. I do think the Signal team are doing their best and have their hearts in the right place, even if i think some of their priorities are skewed, but ultimately Signal needs to be a stepping stone for something better in the future. Maybe some thing built on #Reticulum or something else P2P will be it, but it's gonna be a lot of time and effort for this to come to fruition.
