My biggest political regret of all time is using Act Blue to make donations. The endless text and email spam generated by that decision is literally unstoppable. There's no universal opt out option available, and they claim zero responsibility for the actions of any entity that uses the data their platform provides to its users. This should be illegal in all contexts, but data brokers are immune from all consequences. Act Blue is a data broker, über alles DO NOT USE THEM #ActBlue #spammers

Without naming names, the wonderful Sarah Taber makes the same point: https://youtu.be/o8h_8NNSqig?si=QoMiB6XCMyzOhyK8&t=894 (Don't worry, her guest in this video is doing what more Democrats must do: Running as a Republican in a gerrymandered district. Much like Republicans like Manchin, Sinema, and Gabbard have done to Democrats) #ActBlue #DataBroker

@ricardoharvin I periodically consider changing my main email expressly to have an address that will never be on their list.

@ricardoharvin it's not Actblue, they never share your email, they are not a data broker. It is instead the campaigns themselves that sell off their email lists at the end of the campaign, especially when they loose and have debt. I know that doesn't help with the spam, but don't blame Actblue for the actions of some campaigns.
