History/genealogy query: In 1826, would the term "daughter in law" mean something different than it does now? Reading a will that says "to my daughter in law Mary Asquith, wife of William Asquith, ..." Mary's maiden name is White. She was born in 1771 and married William in 1792. The will is for a man James Dunbar, born 1757 (so he is 14 years older than Mary). I'm finding it hard to see how Mary could be his daughter-in-law? What connections might I look for? #histodons #genealogy
