Here we often don’t get receipts at all. The kiosk also shows the number on the screen, but for some reason they designed the UX so that when it can’t print a receipt the number is only shown for a fraction of a second before it’s hidden by a message saying “unfortunately we can’t print a receipt right now”. As a developer myself it makes me feel like I want to stab whoever thought this was good enough.
