@Teri_Kanefield@mastodon.social I’m curious, what was the moment that made you start questioning the traditional publishing model? Do you think the industry can still protect writers’ dreams while becoming more fair and transparent? And after your own publishing experience, what is the one thing you wish every new writer knew before signing a deal?

I'd like to be able to give a good answer like "the first time my editor cheated me" (Yes, I've been cheated) The industry has changed so much since I started. I think each decade I had different issues. Now I understand the problem of supply and demand. In some ways, it is the positive result of the civil rights and FDR improvements. Lots more people can write.
