@PallasRiot@social.treehouse.systems FWIW: We used to get large wasps' nests hanging very close to our front door. My wife is severely allergic to their stings. So we hung paper decoy nests close to our doors. Problem solved. Haven't had one near the house, since, for ~10 years.   • @EricLawton@kolektiva.social Yeah unfortunately, fake nests haven't been properly studied. They're pretty cheap so I still think they're worth a shot, but they exist in the unfortunate position where we probably wouldn't expect them to work like a hundred percent of the time even if they do work at all, which means that without research it's pretty impossible to evaluate if they really do anything. But like I said, they're cheap, anecdotally some people report success, and it's hard to think of a downside other than being out a few bucks until someone actually does the research.
