Under a beech tree, with one of my favourite teas, and a nice frangipane summer tartelette, I managed to read on paper - few sentences at a time with frequent breaks. It was lovely.
As much as I love audiobooks, I so desperately want to enjoy George Eliot's prose on paper. I love to linger in her words, dwell in her sentences, and delight in her wit. I've not yet found this ability with audiobooks (or maybe I'm just stubborn and need to work on that).
In any case, it was a lovely lovely time.
