Is there a chance that some brands of purifier are less noisy?
I'm asking because ours is quite loud, I highly dislike the noise it makes and only turn it on in the higher setting when the alternative is worse (e.g. someone is ill in the house or there is a lot of smoke). Yet, we stayed once at an airbnb that had a super quiet one. I could barely hear it, yet it kept the air inside quite clean.

@marsiposa@social.coop There might be. Mine is a fancier Dyson model, but I have to run it on the higher settings. It's the fan that's loud, and that fan also helps to keep the room cooler because I can't open the windows and don't have an AC unit.
