i oftentimes wish i had whatever organ of the brain that lets one imagine that the world must be good and orderly and that great evil must not be everpresent around us, because it would be easier to get by if it comprised some part of me

it's like a naturalist fallacy of society. that it must simply be good to be this way. because otherwise why would we be? a self-defeating answer, a tacit endorsement of literally any society, because any society is every society, because every society exists, and all societies must be good, for the world has to be good, and society must be good, and it all must be good. all manner of things must be well.
