He finally called, at 12:15 p.m. Said he was at the front door. I told him I'd asked for a call first and made him wait five minutes. He waited 10. Now he seems to think he can fix it with a part, so he's on the balcony taking it apart. Didn't isolate it at the fuse box, just pulled the inner unit's plug out of the socket. But if this fixes it and I don't have to pay anything, all will be well.
