@dahukanna@mastodon.social If I buy fast fashion second hand, then I'm not supporting fast fashion. If I'm using an open weight model, likewise, I'm not materially supporting its creation. Does that make sense? If I'm paying for a model (which I have) then I am materially supporting the harms. But an open weight model doesn't contribute anything to its originator.
