It will take me about a month to set up a compost toilet & outdoor private shower space. I want to ensure homeless folks we help out feel respected, by providing them some privacy because they're human beings & deserve some dignity too.

I only offer this temporary backyard tenting in Autumn & Winter, when it's really difficult for homeless folks to survive on the streets. In Winter, I've set up firepits & given them warming packets. We do what we can, as poor citizens, trying to help folks with no homes & are judged by society in cruel ways. A lack of societal empathy & compassion towards our most marginalized & vulnerable citizens is a sign of a very sick nation/society in general.

This temporary tenting in our backyard offer is also open to traveling eco/social justice activists. Same deal applies, emergency short term stays, only. I vet everyone first too, because it's necessary for my own & my family's safety. Temporary tenters are welcome to harvest foods we grow to feed themselves, while here & take some harvest foods with them, when departing.

I don't want to hear from anyone who has never done much to help their local homeless communities. If you're not actively helping & have limited experience with helping homeless folks, your ignorant advice means nothing to me. I don't care about opinions from the pull up the ladder & shut the door attitudes folks either.
