@karna@poa.st really good when I was a young whippersnapper and needed some web shit for something, I remember everyone was saying put in google fonts. And I was just like... Why? Why can't I serve a font? There was a bunch of technical cope nonsense around it, most of it about preventing companies LIKE GOOGLE from tracking you through what fonts you had installed. In the end I just ripped the font and served it myself. Looking at how far these idiots took it by now is just laughable. If I check the weather, the browser hits 300 servers and two of those are LLM inference endpoints. Insane!
