I know it's a two hundred year old game but I think XCOM: Enemy Unknown has a lot of bullshit mechanics and doesn't know what it wants to be. I appreciate that they are hardasses and put in squadmate permadeath, and I know every game dev is a blue-haired otherkin faggot queer, but can someone please make video games that not only masochists like? Why put a mind control ability with 100% success rate on an enemy without warning? Why do it AGAIN and give the better mind control unit more...

There's a fundamental problem with the "role play" in computer RPGs that the tabletop never had. The "roleplay" in the tabletop comes from your character behaving as he does, and the content comes to you. This is the DM's job. In the computer games, it's always the opposite. You must behave a certain way to access the content. A crude example would be a mission that has people in a bar robbing drunks. How would you access this if your character was a non-drinker...

Been using pewdiepie's odysseus a lot and it does have its flaws. A lot of "bugs" that turn out to be behavior appropriate for his inference server, but not for a nigga on a PC. It kicks off multiple calls to inference after each chat message, for auto-titling, memories, skills, etc. But I can't handle that. They don't finish before I want to send the next prompt, on my machine. A lot like this. It's made for him. The age of personalized software. Still probably best...

Now that the dust has settled, I'm glad they followed through on the tariffs. That little bit of market uncertainty was well worth it, considering that now everyone is sure that things will stay this way and they are heavily investing in American manufacturing!

Now that the dust has settled, I'm glad that the Right put their full support behind mainstream conservatism to avenge Charlie Kirk. They finally snapped and we got rid of all the antifas together!

Now that the dust has settled, I'm glad that Donald Trump did that pre-emptive strike against Iran's nuclear program. It was 4D chess to bring the Israelis to heel and it prevented any further escalation in the region!

LLMs could be a bad blow to anonymously publishing software. If you want to keep a project separate from your day job / real identity, you need a second subscription. $20/mo is not that big a deal, but $200 (Claude Max) sure is. If the hater are to be believed, we might see a hike in pricing as well.
