@jti42@infosec.exchange Do they really 'need' to resolve this scenario? If the goal is to get rid of obvious, resource hogging, low effort projects with no real users or community, then a vague ToU rule is fine. A large gray area is fine. If a project is obviously AI and a resource hog, mods now have the option to remove it. If not, they simply do nothing. Identifying and banning all AI projects was never the goal.

@defnull@chaos.social Common data shows, since ages, that 99,x percent of FOSS repos have virtually no users. Until some of them do. And that is more than fine. The ability to kick out resource hogs was present beforehand and was already clearly stated in their ToU. Especially around the use of their action runners. And the argument ad "large grey zone" invites exactly the type of arbitrary rule that is contrary to an efficient, predictable outcome.
