The "MINI" port seems to be for Mini PCIe. It's not actually M.2. It just looks very similar to M.2 B.

@jackemled@furry.engineer Yeah, M.2 is based on the Mini PCIe form-factor and connection per this website I found (Wikipedia) so it's likely just a very compact space for a Mini PCIe card.
