@tendstofortytwo@social.treehouse.systems this is an interesting question because you first have to ask why we have speed limits. Speed limits exist because if you're going really fast you have less time to react. It's a preventative measure. A kinetic energy limit would be to minimize damage I think. However it would slow down traffic, as the heaviest car would force everyone to go the same speed and there would be a ton of crashes and it's generally pointless. There's no such thing as a better car accident.
