Out of all the talks that I saw at #stateofthemapus2026 this one was by far the coolest: using OSM data in combination with census data to calculate the hypothetical bike trips of every student within the attendance areas of Madison high schools. In particular, they compared the most direct route with the safest route to find out how much time we are wasting of all these students. Bravo, Ben and @haraldkliems@fosstodon.org !
