For your consideration -- I am a small time history buff and also a once-in-a-while student who's learned of history. I see this just for what it is now: Trump influencing the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is how the bad politicians do that thing they do (those so-called leaders who have no direction). They get in there and then compromise the lower level councils (which are more or less just commissions) so they can have more of a say with the outcomes. Not only has Trump stacked the courts he's also aligned these councils with his own short-sighted prerogatives. This is America's on-going grievance with anybody eccentric and in a leadership position within political office who has drunk too much of Trump's "brand." I think they all now see this for what it is. It is stark corruption of the highest form. Presidential corruption. Only the real leaders can now call them out for this outrage. They want to build Trump-branded malls on Indian burial grounds. Trump also wants easements made in the form of tax breaks through companies he's connected to. Just watch him. That's exactly what No. 47 may try next. We need historic preservation to remain intact in America so that future generations may learn a thing or two from this country's shaky past, and then go forward from having learned something valuable about that history: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/31/arts/historic-sites-trump-regulation-changes.html?unlocked_article_code=1.11A.CpXN.FTnpr37uA-JU&smid=url-share
