Huh, in the latest tvOS beta they actually started updating the design. A few of the app icons got the new glass look (still using secret internal Apple tools not available to the rest of us, I guess – no Icon Composer support), and they changed some (but not all) of the glass edge highlights to come from the top instead of 45°.
The highlight direction appears to be the only change, it’s still the old glass shader otherwise.

Wild that they would release a *public* beta with the design updates only halfway started, but ok

@dale_price@mastodon.online The new hardware must have been on hold for so long that they accidentally forgot they also removed that one remaining tvOS engineer from the team.
