@randahl@mastodon.social This "logic" is disturbingly widespread. Here in the UK, we as anti-racist campaigners get called "paedos" all the time at counter-actions against far-right gatherings, and it's the same reasoning: migrants are child abusers, so those who fight for their rights must also support child abuse. Their latest is chant (to the tune of She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain) is, 🎶"you should never leave a lefty with your kids."🎶 Absurd, given many of their own criminal histories!

@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world Agreed. If anyone wants to talk about paedophiles in their midst, would they like to discuss ordained Christian white men? If you limit the discussion only to convicted ordained Christian white men (leaving out credible accusations), there is still a disturbing pattern that is supported by the data. There are some institutions that have pretty long and bad track records, and there isn’t a lot of public outcry from these “won’t someone think of the children” people. @randahl@mastodon.social
