@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world Agreed. If anyone wants to talk about paedophiles in their midst, would they like to discuss ordained Christian white men? If you limit the discussion only to convicted ordained Christian white men (leaving out credible accusations), there is still a disturbing pattern that is supported by the data. There are some institutions that have pretty long and bad track records, and there isn’t a lot of public outcry from these “won’t someone think of the children” people.

Here in the UK we've had child abuse scandals in the Christian churches, entertainment industries, police and judiciary, hospitals and care homes, the Houses of Parliament and even the Royal family. Traditional paedophile rings - as opposed to opportunistic street gangs - are almost exclusively run by white British men. Yet we still have weekly far-right protests outside asylum hotels, by violent men posing as "protectors" of women and children. 🤷🏻♂️
