I'm trying to schedule an appointment with my mom's endocrinologist. This is through Providence. They are booked through February 2024..
So let me get this right. Emergent care that is needed right away, you have to wait 6 months for?
I mean, what else do you say about this. Every human asset connected to living is also connected to capitalism and profit. Shameful doesn't even go far enough. It's just disgusting. #ushealthcare #healthcare #ForProfitMedicine #providencehealthcare

@jamieannmason@mastodon.social You can usually get an appointment with a top specialist direct if you pay cash up front. Again, this in Australian experience. Free health system up to 2 years. My mothers has been waiting for 3 years (they are basically waiting for her to die) I paid A$ 800 cash and I got to see top specialist within 3 weeks. Happened twice. Also, explore cancellation lists. Some specialist have a list of patients willing to go at short notice if someone cancels.
