Ok, I found a dead via on the audio board and that brought sound back! So the system is alive, and only the LCD is dead. I started messing with it and almost electrocuted myself with the backlight power supply. So I'm carefully closing that up and ordering a mod rn replacement display that doesn't involve dangerous voltages. The playing experience won't be quite the same, the screen will be too good but also the weird 160x144 original resolution doesn't scale well to 320x200 replacement displays
