@lechimp@mastodon.pub.solar there’s an old saying that in academia, the fights are so vicious because there’s so little at stake. That feels relevant here. This carries echoes of 10-15 years ago, when we argued about codes of conduct for FOSS communities. Everyone with a job at a reputable company had already signed on to far more restrictive terms; but somehow not being sexist in FOSS was still a step too far for some.
