The "economy" isn't a thing. The word is an Orwellian abstraction for people. The "economy" doesn't do anything, people do (or don't). Economics is the study of how, why, when, and where people do or don't spend, save, borrow, invest, etc. the money available to them. "Economic activity" = People doing things with money. We need to (finally) start referring to *everything* as what it actually is, and discussions regarding the "economy" are a great starting point. Don't try to "actually" me
