@pacific06@mastodon.social Sleep paralysis is just when you wake up but your brain forgets to turn off sleep mode. You're normally unable to move while you're asleep, and your breathing slows. So you can't move and it feels like you can't breathe right, and due to technically being asleep, you can also hallucinate, and those are based off your emotions, so this is a truly nightmarish combination of things. Thankfully it's not fatal. That's my knowledge on it.

@pacific06@mastodon.social Also this is something that can happen to literally anyone if they get unlucky. If you have any concerns you can ask your doctor if you want, cuz I'm not one. When it happens just stay calm and wait for it to pass you by. It'll go away on its own.
