In related news, the EU now requires publishers & social media platforms to label all "AI" algorithm-generated text & image content.

(But still, I love that LinkedIn is actually using the term "AI slop" in their UI to describe generated filler text. The tides, they are turning.)

@AmeliasBrain@mstdn.ca One plausible explanation for why LinkedIn has that label, is that they want to know WHEN their AI slop is problematic/bad, in order to improve it until it is either undetectable, or at least users don’t find it objectionable. Whether that seems like a Good Thing probably depends on your POV.
