This is Acacia (pronounced A-ka-sha). She was a good kitty, but was only in my life for a few months. She had a fascination that was dangerous to her and potentially to our home: she loved to chew on wires of all sorts, including speaker wires and electrical cords. I tried everything I could think of: hiding them, putting safe bitters on them, even wrapping them in aluminum foil. On the last day, when I walked along the road, bringing her back to the shelter in her carrier, it nearly broke my heart. She had the biggest golden eyes she'd ever offered, and made the gentlest meows. But I knew my place wasn't safe for her.
