@vees@jawns.club Q to you, how is the phone supposed to distinguish between an non-NANP entry and a NANP entry without prefix?
I know my 10-digit phone number is, without the +1 NANP prefix, a valid international number in Netherlands.

@BoydStephenSmithJr@hachyderm.io It doesn't, it just assumes Americans don't call anyone outside of the +1 prefix regularly.

@BoydStephenSmithJr@hachyderm.io @vees@jawns.club Could this all be related to the Dial Assist setting (“automatically determines the correct international or local prefix when dialing.”) at the very bottom of the Phone app’s settings page? Disclaimer: I’ve never taken my iPhone out of the NANP
