I read Dave Wakeling sometimes adds General Public tunes to his English Beat set list. (If you’re British, it’s a bit like a Yazoo/Yaz situation, the Beat were called English Beat here.) I’ll bliss out if he does ‘Never You Done That’—not quite Alison Moyet doing ‘Midnight’ bliss levels but close.

Dave Wakeling did do ‘Tenderness’ so I DID get a partial General Public fix, too. Thought it was going to be the Real Housewife in front of me—drunk off her ass before the show even started—who’d be annoying me all night. (There’s always someone near me at a concert who does.) But it was actually the perfectly nice woman seated to my left—otherwise impeccably groomed—who was very overdue for a shampoo. The overwhelming scent of someone’s oily hair for four hours was not on my bingo card!

@Holberg@mstdn.social I saw The English Beat a couple of years ago, and though I wasn't a big fan they were fantastic. The great thing about seeing all these old bands is if they're still doing it they usually have excellent musicians replacing the people that dropped out. They're not going to bother with someone half assed. Seen a bunch of 80s bands the last couple of years.
