@unnick@booping.synth.download @astrid@woem.space @khm Google claims to have already made a quantum computer that can solve certain problems much faster than a classical computer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_supremacy The problem they solved was one of sampling a quantum circuit, though. Nothing to do with factoring integers or breaking crypto, as far as I can tell. Also, HP then built a classical supercomputer that (using AMD CPUs and GPUs) simulates qubits far faster than the Google machine with actual qubits, so 🤷♂️.
