The Hours (2002) was pretty good but didn't rate it as high as I thought I would've. Nicole Kidman won an Oscar for this but I feel like that should've gone to Julianne Moore or Meryl Streep instead. And that's only if we stick to this movie.
That was a year where Nicole was the weakest of the list, not that she doesn't deserve an Oscar but not for this.

@motoridersd@pug.ninja buzz was that it was about the prosthetic nose. But also iirc Julianne Moore was splitting the vote with herself; this was the same year as Far from Heaven and I think she was nominated in best actress for that and best supporting actress for The Hours. I haven’t seen Unfaithful, but I don’t think Zellweger was gonna win for Chicago due to the biases of the academy sadly
