  • @krzyzanowskim@mastodon.social @slava@mathstodon.xyz I didn’t use VB6 very much, but I used 5 a lot. 6 was a pretty small incremental improvement. VB4 was a huge jump because it switched from its own custom control system to COM, so it was very easy to package up components written in lower-level languages for use in VB. The oldest version I used was VB2 (I might still have the floppies somewhere, no idea if they’re still readable). A lot of the things were there already, but 4 was the real inflection point.
