the thing is, calculators and television and computers DID fundamentally change what most of us are capable of. sometimes for the better, often for the worse.
complaints about new “technologies” can’t be dismissed by ignoring the very real change prior mass shifts have produced in humanity 🤷♀️

it’s actually not “good“ for most of us to spend significant portions of every day watching tv, reels, or scrolling social media. that we do it anyway (myself included) isn’t evidence that there is no problem and the more you do math or code by hand or in your head, the sturdier your foundations 🤷♀️
