the ""germanic"" and ""norse"" adjectives to paganism/animism dont really jell with me anymore, it feels like its trying too much to retvrn back to an imagined homogenous culture. Much like how ethnic and national identities are formalised, the label "germanic" really does not make that much sense in the modern day.
Like my spirituality is aside from being pagan also very catholic, very animist, very civilised and formed through coloniser religious frameworks. What even is Germanic about any of this? The ideas come from a historical ""germanic"" source yes, but also from so many other contemporary places.
I think i prefer just calling it animism, or post-civilized spirituality(?), maybe decolonial once i finally understand what that actually means? 🤷♀️
