Every time the Red Cross declares a different level of alarm over blood shortages, my gay ass who is excluded from donating blood is like
"Hmm, do I want to abstain from gay sex for a full calendar year in order to help fix a problem for a system that discriminates against people like me?"
and then I shrug.

@soatok@furry.engineer gay people cant donate blood, sexualy active ppl cant donate, or ppl have to get checked for deasises before donating blood?

@soatok@furry.engineer it's changed a bit, whether or not to any practical effect for you is a different question. https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements/lgbtq-donors.html Now it's waiting 3 months without anal sex if you've had multiple partners in that time. Also... 3 months since taking PreP.
