@BashStKid@mastodon.online @quixoticgeek@social.v.st There is a large aging windfarm near me that has been running for more than 20 years and it gonna be recharged with new turbines. It will be half the amount of larger modern turbines than the current old ones. The capacity will double to a gigawatt. The recharge will take just under 10 years and cost £1.5 billion. Wind is a mature established technology that actually delivered. Nuclear in principle is fine but in the real world it is never lives up to the promises.
