When driving back from the grocery store on a four lane road adjacent to a nature preserve, the car in front of me came to an abrupt stop. Thankfully I was able to stop before running into them. Wondering what caused the quick halt, I thought it may be a Sandhill Crane making its way across the road, but I didn't see anything that tall. Instead, two smallish adult ducks came into view, followed by eight little tiny ones faithfully following their brave leaders. Brought a smile to my face...cool.
