@augieray@mastodon.social Oh, you mean the way the Democrats changed everything after George W. Bush was out of office? The way they investigated the United States' use of torture and punished the perpetrators? Or wait a minute, didn't they just start chanting "look forward not back" (led by Obama) and thereby normalized torture as an American practice? And remember how Obama and Biden coordinated the nationwide rollout of militarized police forces and tanks to crush the Occupy Wall Street movement over a weekend? Are we really supposed to believe that the Democrats are going to disband ICE, DHS, and the border patrol? The Democrats have been a critical part of advancing fascism in America for generations. Anytime anyone points that out, we just get told to vote harder. You know, eventually that line got really old. The Democrats serve the same billionaires that the Republicans do. Anyone who hasn't figured that out by now is either incredibly gullible, or selling something. #GeneralStrike #Politics

@Quasit@beige.party @augieray@mastodon.social You’re totally right. All across the board they are guilty of weakening our democracies and the destruction of the welfare states. Our first line of agenda should be demanding the advancement of democracy. Accountability, direct democracy, public oversight, proportional representation,… We have to take back control before it is too late!

@Quasit@beige.party @augieray@mastodon.social I believe that if we can’t change the underlying system of capitalism, we won’t change anything at all. We’re asking the wrong questions. There is no single person, be it a president or a madman, and no party that can change anything. We, as a people, must ask ourselves: Do we need growth? Do we need the monetization of everything? We need to change the framework for what we believe a government must do to serve the people and how we intend to measure that. And we need to stop glorifying the successful people of this current, strange system. They’ve brought us all the problems we’re currently facing—so why should their behavior be considered good or worthy of emulation?

@Quasit@beige.party I am sure that you have an alternative that will provide a better outcome than voting for Democrats /s. Keep up the criticism, but don't demotivate the voting. As we see around the US, the consequences of not voting can be horrendous. Voting at least ensures that your worst enemy gets less power. #Vote @augieray@mastodon.social
