I believe that if we can’t change the underlying system of capitalism, we won’t change anything at all. We’re asking the wrong questions. There is no single person, be it a president or a madman, and no party that can change anything. We, as a people, must ask ourselves: Do we need growth? Do we need the monetization of everything? We need to change the framework for what we believe a government must do to serve the people and how we intend to measure that. And we need to stop glorifying the successful people of this current, strange system. They’ve brought us all the problems we’re currently facing—so why should their behavior be considered good or worthy of emulation?
