@kevswims@hachyderm.io I've never seen the squirrel actually remain in a burning state for long enough to ignite anything else but Colorado is a tinderbox so I'd absolutely believe it

@kevswims@hachyderm.io I didn't think squirrels were super flammable though lol, i figured a tree branch or something would be more likely to actually sustain combustion after the arc flash. I've always thought of squirrel guards as for wildlife protection and reducing outages, not a fire safety measure

@azonenberg@ioc.exchange it doesn't take much to start a grass fire on a hot July day here. The one I was closest to was on the grounds of the Loveland Keysight office when I was interning there. Where the fire started was below a pole with a crisp squirrel at the bottom of it and no tall trees.
