Imagine if George Lucas hadn't stopped at just adding new special effects to the original Star Wars trilogy, but had reshot most of the movie with a mix of the old actors and several recasts, under a completely new director.
That's what Halo Campaign Evolved feels like. They one-upped George Lucas. The vast majority of principal dialog has been re-recorded under new direction. Everything feels massively wrong.
