@intransitivelie@beige.party while I love OpenBSD I don't think I'd run it on my desktop. I suspect you'll have better luck with Mint, honestly.

@intransitivelie@beige.party I hope it doesn't turn out that way but really the question is what are you wanting to do here? I have Mint on a box in my house that acts as the family media centre as well as on my youngest's laptop. I have FreeBSD on my home 'server' which runs a few services. Given my use cases I could have mostly used them interchangeably without noticing a difference. The only thing that I might run into problems with is that I have a ZFS NAS so that can run into compatibility issues. IMO both are fine. I had more learning to do with BSD because I'd come from Linux but it wasn't crazy
