I’m slightly irked that more creative tools aren’t available on Linux. 😞
If ZBrush or Character Creator or an affordable copy of Divine Cut were available, that would be so fantastic. I know I could try to run them with Wine, but…eh.
I feel like the Linux desktop is actually pretty great for media production and game development these days. I can do most of what I want with FOSS tools! But…it’s a much more challenging path.

A lot of what I’m doing for 3D stuff is just straight up Blender plugins. There are many of them! You can do some pretty great stuff! But again, a lot of these are side gig projects or hobby developments. The actual cost of Free Software is patience, and time, and energy learning about how to work with some fiddly piece. There’s a lot of weird, obscure things you have to figure out, that commercial users can just skip entirely.
