I hope that, just like with computers, the originals were almost as huge as some of those AI data centres are nowadays, we'll be able to move AI from said huge data centres which are incredibly power hungry into smaller, local devices which don't require as much power and water to run, at which point all of this is going to be way more efficient and ethical. That is what I mean with more thoughtful and slower development.
