We had an adventure this morning near Peoria at Sand Ridge State Forest. I think I believed their PR a bit too much about it being a beautiful, sandy forest. It was just typical Illinois with sand. But the nearby Chautauqua National Wildlife Refuge was awesome (and even saw pelicans in the distance 😍) Pics to come.
