Upgrading iPods to SSD is very possible, but not exactly easy -- however there is a whole cottage industry out there who will sell you pre-upgraded ones, including things like USB-C charging and bluetooth. The downside is: the primordial iPod OS can't address more than about 30k songs no matter how big the "disk" is. this may lead you to trying to use Rockbox instead.
