@csem_cn@mstdn.social In the worst case scenario, you have to rename multiple layers:
VG name— vgrename
Volume GUIDs— vgchange -u
PV GUID— pvchange -u
File system GUIDs— tune2fs (EXT) or xfs_admin (XFS)
You can do all of this to your working copy without impacting other data in the file system. Once all the changes are made, you can mount the images side by side.
Why do you want to do this? Because each image has unique data—logs, OS changes, user data, etc. Being able to look at them side by side has value.
